About Calder Coaches: Leading Coach Hire Company in Huddersfield
Calder Coaches is a family-run coach hire company in Heckmondwike, just between the Huddersfield and Halifax areas of West Yorkshire. We provide safe, reliable, and affordable transport for schools, businesses, and private groups travelling across the UK. With a fleet ranging from 24 to 70 seats, we offer flexible travel options to suit every group size and occasion.
For over a decade, we have built a strong reputation for dependable service, friendly drivers, and outstanding value. Whether it’s a school trip, corporate event, airport transfer, or family day out, our team ensures every journey runs smoothly from start to finish.
Our Mission and Core Values
At Calder Coaches, our mission is simple: to provide safe, reliable, and affordable coach hire in Huddersfield and across West Yorkshire.
We operate on three guiding principles that define every journey we take:
Safe
Every coach in our fleet is maintained to the highest standards set by the DVSA. We carry out daily safety checks and regular inspections through trusted workshops. Each vehicle is fitted with seatbelts, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and clearly marked emergency exits. All our drivers are DBS-checked and fully DVSA compliant, ensuring complete peace of mind for our passengers.
Reliable
We take pride in being a coach company you can count on. Our professional drivers always arrive in advance of the scheduled pick-up time, and all vehicles are equipped with built-in GPS tracking so we can monitor their location throughout every journey. Punctuality and professionalism are part of our promise.
Affordable
As a family business, we understand that budgets vary. Whether you’re an individual, school, community group, or business, we always aim to work closely within your budget. We also offer flexible payment options where possible, helping make quality coach hire accessible for everyone.
Our Fleet
We operate a modern, comfortable fleet with seating capacities from 24 to 70 passengers. This allows us to cater to a wide range of travel needs, from small groups to large organisations.
- Midi Coaches (22–33 seats): Ideal for smaller groups, day trips, or private outings such as weddings, hen parties, and sports events.
- Large Coaches (42–51 seats): Perfect for long-distance travel and large groups. Many of our executive vehicles include onboard facilities for comfort during longer journeys.
- High Capacity Coaches (70 seats): Ideal for school transport, enabling two classes to travel together in one cost-effective, environmentally friendly vehicle.
Every vehicle is cleaned, inspected, and prepared to the highest standard before each journey.

Schools
We understand how challenging it can be to organise educational trips safely. Our 70-seater coaches make it simple for schools to plan day trips, swimming lessons, and sports fixtures with complete confidence.

Avoid the hassle of airport parking and group logistics. We provide comfortable airport transfers from West Yorkshire to Manchester and Leeds Bradford airports, with ample space for passengers and luggage.
Corporate Travel
From team-building events to conferences and client meetings, we help businesses keep their employees moving efficiently and professionally.
Day Trips and Private Hire
Whether it’s a seaside outing, a day at the races, or a family celebration, our friendly drivers and well-maintained coaches ensure your group travels safely and comfortably.
